WILIAMINA MARY (NINA) BAILEY Wiliamina Mary (Nina) Bailey passed peacefully into The Lord's care, Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Country Meadows PCH, Neepawa, MB, attended by her son, and caring staff. Born in Neepawa March 17, 1915 to George and Mary Davidson, she graduated Neepawa Collegiate 32, where she met C. T. G. "Clare" Bailey. They married July 1933. From a shy teenage bride, she blossomed into the self sufficient lady, who stood to address her guests, at her 99th Birthday. Nina and Clare began their married life in Riding Mountain, where Clare taught school. Ensuing moves, abetted by RCAF service-39, post-War U of S, and a variety of career choices, saw them gather friends in Brandon, North Bay, St. Thomas, Saskatoon, Neepawa, Dauphin, and Hamiota, before settling at 43 Valleyview Dr., Winnipeg for 32 years. In 2000 Nina moved to Kiwanis Courts, Winnipeg, and to Country Meadows in November '13. Nina was an avid diarist and correspondent, whose astute memory was a source of historical occasions. Her piano talents enlivened many social events, and her picture collection documents 6 generations. She was a dedicated member of the Hamiota, Neepawa and Knox (Winnipeg) United Churches, choirs, and officer in Eastern Star Lodges. An enthusiastic volunteer, always there for family, friends and associates, she was the first to welcome newcomers with a smile, homemade buns; or a slip' from her plants or garden. In 99 Clare predeceased her; as had her parents, sisters: Beth (Farrell) Winnipeg, Winnie (Lees) Gladstone; brothers: Alex (Phyllis), Carberry, Bill of Neepawa, and Roy (Arleigh), a RCAF Second World War casualty; brothers-in-law: Bob McLaughlin, Howard Farrell, Laurence Lees; nephews: Lawrence and Bill Lees: niece Ruth Seddon. She is survived by son, Murray (Charlotte) SK, grandchildren: Deanna Bailey (Whitehorse), John Bailey (Calgary), Jeremy, Diane and great- grandson, Korben Forster (Humboldt), Jason Forster (Gaytan) (Sktn); sisters: Gladys (McLaughlin) Neepawa and Elaine (Ellis) Ottawa; and over 75 nieces, nephews, spanning three generations; and two goddaughters: Janice Anderson, SK, and Susan Febrarro, ON. Nina and Clare lived a lifetime of service; in lieu of a floral gift, a donation or service to your favorite charity would be the greater tribute. Funeral Services will be held September 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in White's Funeral Chapel, Neepawa, MB, with interment in the beautiful Riverside Cemetery Neepawa, Manitoba. Our gratitude to the staff at Country Meadows, and White's for their compassionate attention to Nina's wishes and care.
