DONNA MAE PRADINUK (nee ANTON) Peacefully on September 13, 2014, at St. Boniface Hospital, following a courageous battle with cancer, Donna, aged 65 years of Winnipeg, passed into eternal rest surrounded by the love of her family. Donna was predeceased by her parents, Tom and Elsie Anton, sister Heather Schmidt, brother-in-law Murray Drohomereski and father-in-law Matt Pradinuk. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 43 years, Larry, son Anton (Rhonda), grandsons Aiden and Andrew and former daughter-in-law Corinne Kopansky. Also left to mourn her passing are her sisters, Ellen Drohomereski, Linda (Edmond) Zelenesky, Janice Anton, Kimberly (David) Basarowich, and Frederica (Lyle) Anderson, brother-in-law Ron Schmidt (Carol), mother-in-law Muriel Pradinuk, sisters-in-law, Pat (Ron) Lotz, Cheryl Borden, brother-in-law Barry Pradinuk, close friend Marlene, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Donna was born on May 13, 1949 and raised in Whytewold, Manitoba. After graduating high school in Gimli, Donna moved to Winnipeg where she would meet Larry. They were married on February 13, 1971. Donna began work at Reimer Express before moving on to Palliser Furniture where she headed the accounting department for thirty years retiring in 2009. But retirement wasn't for Donna and she once again returned to the workforce at Buhler Industries. Donna and Larry enjoyed the many weekends spent at Winnipeg Beach, as well as their trips to Florida, Las Vegas and Palm Springs. Gardening was Donna's hobby but it was her home and family that were the cornerstones of her life. She will forever be remembered for her love and dedication to both. Special thanks to Dr. Sawchuk, Jan Williams and Sheila Korban of the River East Access Centre and to the Palliative Care Team at St. Boniface Hospital, especially Paul, Linda, and Chelsey. As well thank you to the many dear family and friends for their loving compassion, care and support. In accordance with Donna's wishes, a funeral service will be held on Friday, September 19 at 1:00 p.m. in the All Saints Anglican Church in Whytewold with Rev. Robin Mather officiating. Interment to follow at the Winnipeg Beach Community Cemetery. Pallbearers are brothers-in-law, Edmond, Ron S, David, Lyle, Ron L., and Barry. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Donna may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation or to the Winnipeg Humane Society. • I'm very sad to hear of Donna's passing. I grew up with Anton and Donna was always welcoming to me as a child. Before my mom passed last year, we often ran into Donna and Larry out shopping, while my mom was undergoing cancer treatments, and we would chat and catch up on life, after not seeing them for a number of years. My condolences to Anton, Larry and Family. - Posted by: Bobbi-Jo Stanley (family friend) on: Sep 17, 2014

  • I fondly remember Donna as one of my students in Grade 10 in Gimli. I am also still thankful for her assistance in the organization of the national grand Anton Reunion in 2000 at Anton's Corner in Matlock. She always had a sunny disposition and her infectious smile will be remembered by all who knew her. Best wishes to all her family.
