Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKARL HEINZ HAUSER April 11, 1936 - September 28, 2014 Karl passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. He is survived by Gertrud, his loving wife of 50 years; Andrea and Robert (Nicole and Kerstin), Petra and Bruce, Claudia and Todd, Martina, Matthias and Kristine (Sarah, Katelyn and Daniel). Predeceased by his grandson Steven. He was born in Rheinheim, Germany, and was the eldest of three siblings. Due to the Second World War, he worked on the family farm at a very young age. This led him into farmer school. He met mom in the church choir and they married in 1964. Together they had five children. Since farming in Germany was not enough to sustain a family of seven, he decided to follow his lifelong dream to be a farmer in Canada. This brought the entire family to Winnipeg in 1979, while Karl searched for a farm. The family then settled in Rembrandt in 1981. There he was able to farm and fulfill his dream. He was an honest and determined man, with a high sense of integrity, had a great sense of humour and was good hearted. He valued his family and friends, both in Canada and in Germany. He enjoyed the outdoors, woodworking, fishing, bowling and enjoyed playing cards. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, October 1 at 11:00 a.m. in the Arborg St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church. Thank you to the staff at Arborg Hospital for the care provided, as well as Father Darius. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Karl's memory to the Arborg St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church. McKenzie Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
