Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • Laurie was a talented and gifted artist. We miss her smile, her new found positive attitude towards life, especially after meeting Ken. We cherish the many summers of 'Christmas in July' and visits to Winnipeg beach with Laurie and all the family. Showing her work was something she enjoyed doing and she received great praise for her artistic contribution to the City of Winnipeg. - Posted by: Bruce and Betty Green (Uncle and Aunt {Calgary}) on: Nov 20, 2014

  • I first met Laurie when Rheal was a baby. Reconnecting with her at ArtBeat and as a board member with Arts and Disability Network of Manitoba, I enjoyed Laurie's wit and respected her creative expression, community commitment and humanity. - Posted by: Susan P. • Winnipeg lost an incredibly supportive, positive, and wonderful artist this Sunday. I met Laurie during my residency at Artbeat Studio. She was a light, a beacon of hope, while I was going through dark times. Her smile and welcoming spirit was always present, and she always gave time to people in need. I will miss her. - Posted by: Benj Funk (Fellow Artbeat Alumni) on: Nov 18, 2014
