Hi I know it’s been a while since Cassandra’s passing. But I was recently thinking about her and wanted to share my story. When I was in elementary I remember Cassandra as my only friend up to the point she passed. I would read to her and sit with her while her feeding tube was changed. She loved to move her arms when she was happy I remember that. She wasn’t able to speak to me in words but she was truly a great friend and I hope I was a good friend to her too. She made me happy to go to school. I remember the day they told us she wouldn’t be there anymore. You both (her parents I assume this is going to) came to class to tell us. I was awfully sad and didn’t know what it meant. But since knowing her I’ve spent a lot of my life helping those born less fortunate. I had a deeper appreciation for those who cannot do what most of us are privileged to do and I am forever in her debt for that gift. - Posted by: Katie (School mate) on: Sep 06, 2023
