MARION DELIA KOLBA (nee WINTERBURN) June 13, 1932 - February 3, 2015 With family at her side, Marion slipped peacefully away at her residence at Misericordia Place. Her passing culminated a long cognitive decline that took from her all it could, but not the essential kindness and warmth that defined her. In that, she triumphed. Marion was born in Winnipeg to Alma and Job Winterburn. Marriage took her to Dauphin, where she began her family, and later to Swan River and Brandon. All the while she balanced full-time work and parenting. In the late 1970s, she returned to Winnipeg to be close again to family and to build for herself a secure and comfortable life to be shared with those she loved and who loved her. Predeceased by her parents and brother Victor (Sandy), Marion is survived by brother David (Barbara, deceased), sister Doris (Paul), sons Dennis (Michelle) and Ken (Sandy), daughters Kathleen (Barry) and Christine, grandchildren Kari (Christopher), Ryan, Lisa, Cole (Vicki) and Jade, and six great grandchildren. Whether we knew her as Marion, Mom, Grandma or GG, we learned from her the meaning of unconditional love. Her legacy resides in the virtues she instilled in each of us. Thank you to the staff at Misericordia Place, for their diligence and compassion in making Marion's final years comfortable and pleasant. You have touched and enhanced all our lives. A service will be held at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway, Winnipeg, on Monday, February 9, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marion's name may be made to your charity of choice.
