Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMURIEL OLIVINE STAMMEN (nee JOHNSON) August 27, 1940 - March 22, 2015 Muriel passed away peacefully, with her daughter by her side, at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 74 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She is lovingly remembered by her mother Elsie, brother Robert, son Dale (Kimberly), daughter Kimberley (Bradley), and grandchildren Erik, Hayley and Emma. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Donald, and father Melvin in 1963. Muriel was born in the Rural Municipality of Lawrence, Manitoba, went to school in Rorketon and graduated in 1965 with a B.Sc. in Home Economics from the University of Manitoba. She taught for over 30 years at Elmwood High School in Winnipeg. Muriel enjoyed traveling with her family, curling, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and her dogs. The family would like to thank the staff of Riverview Medical Centre for their care and compassion. In compliance with Muriel's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Muriel's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, or a charity of your choice.
