MARGARET KWAST (nee NIKKEL) 1927 - 2015 On Sunday, April 5, 2015 at the Salem Home in Winkler, MB Margaret Kwast aged 87 years passed away. Margaret was born on April 10, 1927 in the municipality of Hanover, MB and grew up on the family farm near Grunthal. She was baptized in the Elim Church in Grunthal in 1949. As a young adult, she began working at the Steinbach Hospital as a kitchen aide. Later on, she bought a house in Winnipeg and enjoyed life there with her tenants. Since her specialty was food preparation, she worked in the kitchen at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital. In 1980, Margaret married Richard Kwast and they moved to Rock Lake, Manitoba, then to Crystal City and finally to Winkler. Margaret valued hospitality, hard work, and generosity and demonstrated these values in her life. She was a fun loving, cheerful quiet person with qualities that exemplified a life Christ would want us to live. She leaves to mourn one brother, Jakob, and one sister, Nettie and their spouses and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard in 2014, two sisters and two brothers-in-law. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Wiebe Funeral Home 121 8th St. in Winkler with interment at Westridge Memorial Gardens.
