MONA ELIZABETH WATSON (nee JOHNSON) It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Mona Elizabeth Watson on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg Manitoba. Mona is survived by her daughter, Robbin (Andrew); son, Robert (Lynne); granddaughters, Kally, Erin and Amy; and great-grandson, Damian. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Adolph (Johnnie); and three sisters, Anna, Martha and Greta. On May 15, 1926 Mona was born in Eriksdale, Manitoba to parents Olaf Peter (OP) Johnson and Gerda Victoria Johnson. She grew up in the Interlake area of Manitoba and was educated there in the Nyland School District. She was a long time employee of the Eaton's mail order here in Winnipeg. She eventually retired at the age of 62 from the AMROC section of the Department of National Defence, in September 1987. A private family Graveside Service will be held in August of this year in Elmwood Cemetery. A special thanks to the home care program of St. James and the Kiwanis Courts which allowed Mona to live happily and independently to the end of her life. Also thanks to the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital for the care and support in making Mona comfortable in her final days.
