My friend Marilyn Heidebrecht and I sing at Lion's Manor, 3rd floor, every other Tuesday and we got to know and love Gertie in the last year or two. She loved being active in her wheelchair so she didn't always stay through the whole singalong, but we learned that her favorite song was "Heavenly Sunshine", so we would sing it to Gertie before we left. She loved singing along with us. At last night's singalong, we sang it again in her loving memory. Maybe it will be sung at her funeral. God bless Gertie on her journey home to the heavenly sunshine of God's love. - Posted by: Lydia Penner (Sang with Gertie at Lion's Manor ) on: May 13, 2015
