"May the winds of love blow softly, And whisper so you can hear, We will always love and miss you, And wish that you were here. For all that life has given us, And all that's left to do, We'll know no greater treasure, Than the days we had with you."

  • Sad to learn of the passing of Ian. I last talked to him at the MGEU Convention held some months ago. I always thought of Ian as a very mature and thoughtful person with a good sense of humour. He once diagnosed me as having gout when I was describing some real pain in one foot. I went to see my Doctor and told him this diagnosis. My Doctor said that I did not have gout, but to return if I had a flare up. Well I did, went back and after some tests were done, Ian was right. I had gout. An example of Ian's friendliness was many years ago, for some reason my son Grant and I were at Ian and Pat's cottage on Lake of the Woods. Gary Doer was there as well. Well Gary tried his hand at windsurfing, he kept falling off, probably one of his very few failures. My son Grant got on the board and away he went, farther and farther out on the lake. I recall Ian saying that it looks like he can't figure out how to get back into the wind. Ian got in his boat and went out and brought my son back in. Later Ian took us out on the lake for a wonderful cruise on his nice sail boat. I've always respected Ian for that. My sincerest condolences to the family. He will be remembered as a good person. - Posted by: Bob Olien (Co worker at MGEA/MGEU) on: May 18, 2015

  • You Cuthbertsons were like family to us, your dad like an uncle, always caring and kind to me. I always enjoyed our times at your house on Linden, out at the lake (where I learned how to waterski) and visiting your mom and dad in Florida. I will miss you Mr. C !!! (And I continue to miss Mrs. C!) LF - Posted by: Lauren Bailey Forsyth (Friend) on: May 17, 2015
