KAREN EILEEN SMITH November 7, 1964 - May 23, 2015 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear daughter, sister and auntie on May 23, 2015. Karen went peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family and special canine friend, Willie. She is survived by her mother Beryl, her identical twin Sherril, other siblings Colleen (Ron Almdal), Norman (Cheryl), Lorne, Diane (Peter Kilcollins), and nieces Kendal, Crystal and Kaitlin. Karen fought a long and hard fight and is now at peace. She was an amazing and unique person with a strong spirit who touched many people's lives in different ways. She will be sadly missed by those who knew her wit, smile and laughter. We would like to thank the Palliative Care nurses for their care and compassion which enabled us to fulfill Karen's last wish to be at home. We would also like to thank Daly de Gagne for his help, support and above all friendship over the last several weeks in preparing Karen and family for her next journey. In addition, we would like to thank all those who sent their thoughts and prayers to us during this difficult time. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Karen's Life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2:00 p.m. at 724 Selkirk Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3 in honour of all the joy her furry friends gave to her. We will love Karen FOREVER but forget her NEVER! Goodbye for now, until we meet again. May Karen be in perfect peace and harmony. (204) 782-3541 www.kilcollinscremationservice.com
