My father was a multi-talented guy. He rebuilt our family home by himself, pouring concrete, refinishing the basement, installing plumbing and whatever else needed to be done. A life-long athlete, dad swam at the local YMCA, worked out, skated like the wind, and won many golf trophies. We spent endless days fishing at Grand Beach , Lockport and Seven Sisters, where my Baba and Gigi often joined the family with big picnic lunches. Dad taught me how to skate, ride a bike, drive ,love reading , art and music, and appreciate nature. In his later years, he loved to paint, and exhibited his many works at local art shows. I 'll miss my Dad. He is now singing the war songs we sang when I was a tiny girl,in his '57 Chevrolet Impala driving around Winnipeg, alone, but I'm still singing them , too , and smiling up at him .Thanks, Dad. I love you. - Posted by: Lisa Matenchuk (daughter) on: Jun 11, 2015
