WILLIAM (BILL) FRIESEN 1933 - 2015 In the early hours of June 9, 2015 after a brief illness, Bill passed away peacefully, surrounded by family. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Elma, his brothers Edwin, Clarence, Jack, his children Rick (Diane), Bruce (Lorraine), Jo-Anne, Dianne (André), Judy, his 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Bill is remembered as a gentle, kind, and loving man. His legacy is one of humility and generosity. A memorial will be held Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., at Trinity United Church, 933 Summerside Avenue in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.

  • We have known Bill and Elma for years as our daughter and their grand daughter are best friends. I spoke to Bill just days before he received his diagnosis. He was cheerful as usual. So proud of his great grand kids. (Robin s kids). I can t imagine the 2 of them not walking together through the streets of St Norbert. His death has saddened us beyond measure.   • I spent many Saturday nights sleeping in Bill and Elma's basement on Church Street during our teen years. It was my second home. It was also my last basement to sleep in as a single man. I slept there the night before I got married 41 years ago. Thanks Bill for always being so welcoming and always having that warming smile.
