CHLOE MICHELLE JORGENSON Chloe Michelle Jorgenson died at home, surrounded by her family, on Monday, June 15, 2015, at the age of 70. She was predeceased by her parents Ralph and Thora Sallows, her mother-in-law Elizabeth Enright, her brothers Terry Sallows and Bill Sallows, and her brother-in-law Gordon Jorgenson. She is sadly missed by her loving husband Bruce, her son Joey (Faun), daughters Crystal (Warren) and Amy, and grandchildren Robbie, Michael, Samantha, Hannah, Nicholas, Mackenzie and Morgan. Her passing is also mourned by her sisters Molly (Bob), Nola (Don) and Wanda (Stan), and sisters-in-law Val, Marg and Joan. She will be missed by many dear friends near and far. Chloe was born September 8, 1944, in Flin Flon, MB, and grew up in Cranberry Portage. She fell in love with the boy down the street with the brand new VW Bug and married Bruce on May 18, 1963. They lived in Anzac, AB, Toronto and Ottawa, eventually returning to Manitoba to Gilbert Plains to raise their growing family. They enjoyed cross country skiing, camping and socializing with friends. Life was always interesting in the big house on the hill north of town but in 2008, Chloe and Bruce made the move into town. Chloe and Bruce were exceptionally involved in their community, and Chloe led the charge in many organizations. Whether it was Girl Guides, Gilbert Plains Band, Sunday School, or softball, "Mrs. J" put in countless volunteer hours in support of the youth in her community. She served on the Home and School Association and the Parent Advisory Council. Chloe delivered Meals on Wheels, provided transportation to those who had appointments and developed the Angel Tree Project, a food hamper program for those in need. Alongside Bruce, she served on the Gilbert Plains Ambulance Service. Chloe was an original member of the Nursery School and Daycare committees, and was instrumental in establishing a Moms and Tots group to support young mothers in the community. Over the years, Chloe received several volunteer awards in recognition of her many efforts. In more recent years, Chloe rarely missed weekly Tuesday coffees with her friends and Friday night happy hours at the Legion. Her other passions in her life included her family - especially her grandchildren, her garden, watching a good movie or her favourite TV shows, and travelling with her sisters. The family thanks the CancerCare Clinic in Dauphin, especially Dr. Trina Mathison, and the home care team for their gentle care and support of Chloe. A Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, June 30 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's United Church, Gilbert Plains, followed by a lunch at the Gilbert Plains Legion. A private interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chloe's memory may be made to the Gilbert Plains Community Fund, P.O. Box 321, Gilbert Plains, MB R0L 0X0, or to a charity of your choice.
