  • My deepest condolences go out to David's family. I knew David for 3 years, he and Sydney were both in my wedding party and he was such a fun guy that he made everyone laugh. I'm sorry that we had lost contact David, R.I.P buddy. - Posted by: Oliver Meier (friend) on: Jul 02, 2015

  • I was saddened by the news of David's passing. He was my friend, best friend in fact, for 2 terrific years in the mid 1970s while we attended grade 6 and 7. Since we parted ways all those years ago, we never reconnected until just recently using the power of the internet and social media. While my memory is hazy after 35+ years, I do recall being typical teen boys, likely getting into trouble and probably giving our parents cause for some concern! I wish I had taken the time to get to know him better. Thank you to Shelly and Graham for including me and keeping me informed. - Posted by: Neil Hansen (Friend (from grade 6/7)) on: Jul 01, 2015

  • My Heart is Heavy today as I learned of the passing of a Dear Old Friend. My sincere Condolences go out to Carol and Jacky, Shelley, Graham and Sydney, Grandma Minnie as well as numerous Aunt's, Uncles. Dave's and my Journey began in High School, We instantly became friends and were basically joined at the hip. One day Dave asked me to come over to his house to meet his family. To all that knew Dave way back then knew that Dave was a quiet, caring individual. I recall meeting Dave's family, His Father with a firm handshake, and his Mom a Quiet yet strong caring individual, then there was Shelley (she is another story all together, in a good way). Dave showed me his room and I had to chuckle out of respect as on his wall was these badges, what seemed like his pride and joy. If my memory serves me well they were Boy Scout Badges. Over the years our bond as friends was like Crazy Glue, even during those difficult times we still had a very strong friendship. I will cherish the visits, the chats which lasted for hours, even our quiet times of sitting and enjoying each others company. Dave was taken away to soon, It is not Good-Bye my friend...........It is Until I see You Again. Best Friends For life God saw that he was getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put his arms around him and whispered, "Come with Me." With tearful eyes we watched him suffer and saw him fade away. Although we loved him dearly we would not ask him to stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. - Posted by: Darryl Hodkin (Best friend from High School) on: Jun 30, 2015

  • My deepest condolences to David's famiy on his passing. David was a great man eventhough he had his health problems to deal. I will miss seeing him at Riverwood and I would now like to share something with the famiy "David has not died, but merely gone away, to a better place, free of pain and suffering. We will see him again some day. Rest in Peace, David." - Posted by: PATRICIA HOMENICK (Friend) on: Jun 30, 2015
