Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Ms Nash was our librarian at Sisler High School in the 70's. She was always polite, helpful, and well dressed. May she rest in peace. - Posted by: sonia batson (former student at Sisler ) on: Jul 26, 2015

  • I first met Elizabeth at Moira and Len's wedding in Edmonton. I flew to Edmonton and if I remember correctly an airline strike happened. I was then in a situation where I had to take the bus, train or hitch a ride with Elizabeth. She seemed to be a very nice lady and although I was cautioned that she drove fast; I accepted her offer of a ride rather than the long bus or train ride. I soon learned there were no stops other than for gas, food or sleep. After a short time on the road, I began to look anywhere but the road. I could not believe this older woman was driving at these speeds - she was not a fast driver or a speedy driver - she was driving at insane speeds, passing with little time to get back into the correct lane. I was scared out of my wits and wondered why o why did I not take the bus or train. At the first gas stop, I bought a book. I kept my head in the book and not on the road. Once I looked up and we barely missed a semi and another time, I am sure we were air borne over a hill. As you know, we both made it back to Winnipeg safely; however, I am not sure my anxiety has ever subsided. I do not remember ever meeting her after that and actually had forgotten all about that trip until today. Sorry to hear of your loss and God bless you all. - Posted by: Shelagh Vogt () on: Jul 08, 2015
