Uncle Gerard lived a full and exuberant life and was the last sibling to have passed on my father’s side. He was always on the go and not one to sit idle which contributed to his remarkable good health. Even in retirement he was vivacious and did not stand still. Uncle did a lot of travelling with Aunt Therese and returned with lots of stories. Our family, living as next door neighbor knew him and his family very well growing up in our childhood years in small Dufrost. I have vivid memories of his competency (“secret techniques”) in preparing the best regional ice sheets for the Dufrost Curling rink where we had family and local bonspiels. The old General Store and Post office was what we would call today our modern day “internet café” to catch up on all the local news with Uncle. He was a great raconteur of news and general events. He was an enterprising spirit as the local grocer and provided well for his family. I recall he liked to work outdoors particularly in his large garden. May he rest in Peace. On behalf of Geraldine and I, we offer our sincere condolences to Aunt Therese and family. Gabriel Marion (Nephew) Toronto, Ontario - Posted by: GABRIEL J MARION (Nephew) on: Jul 08, 2015

I have fond memories of Uncle when I was growing up in Dufrost. I use to love going for visits at the general store, especially for a 7up and bag of chips. The store, along with the Post Office was the hub of the meeting place for town folks. Uncle liked to share many stories. He seemed to have so much knowledge on current events and loved to share his ideas and thoughts. I know that he did lot for the community of Dufrost. My thoughts and prayers to the family. - Posted by: Lise Marion (Niece) on: Jul 08, 2015
