RALPH MOELLER
Born: Sep 22, 1933
Date of Passing: Jul 16, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRALPH MOELLER Peacefully at the age of 81, on July 16, 2015, Ralph Moeller got his wish - to be with Mom again. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Margaret Moeller, in October of 2010 and we hope they're somewhere right now, whirling around on a dance floor. Dad was also predeceased by his parents, Greta and Emil Moeller, his brother Chuck, brothers-in-law Ed and Joe Kamer, and sisters-in-law Janet and Illa. He is survived by his four children: Carol (Jim Fogg), Roger, Janice (Bernie Lopko), and David (Susan); his grandchildren, Jennifer (Jamie Waldbauer), Kevin (Paige Thomson), Cory, Matthew, and Meghan, and his great-grandchildren, Keira and Brooklyn; as well as sisters-in-law Tommie (Ethel Mae) Moeller and Betty Kamer, and many much-loved cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was born in Winnipeg on September 22, 1933 but was proud to have lived most of his life in the Teulon area, a community he loved. For 76 years, he lived on the family farm. He loved the land and took great joy in watching things grow. Dad served on the board of the Manitoba Sugar Beet Producers. In his later years, he enjoyed "windshield farming" - touring the countryside to see what the land was producing. Dad loved jokes, good or bad. He had a mind like a steel trap. He maintained his first language, and enjoyed speaking German when any opportunity came up. He loved to travel, going on trips with friends and family to the Grand Canyon, Hawaii, and Germany. He valued his friendships greatly - his card buddies, many long-time friends in Teulon, his cousins across Canada, the U.S., and back in Germany, his brothers-in-law Joe and Ed Kamer, and a special friendship with his older brother, Chuck. Dad battled illness much of his life but never complained. He knew there was always someone who was worse off than him and counted himself lucky. Our thanks to the staff at the hospital who were so good to him over the years, and especially in these last few days as he faced death the same way he always faced illness - with determination and strength. At Dad's request, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be interred next to Mom at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. In memory of Ralph, please consider planting something and watching it grow. In memoriam donations may be made to the Seniors Resource Centre - Teulon and District, Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital, the Teulon Food Bank, or a charity of your choice. When he was a little kid, his mother would tell him, "Nothing hurts when you are asleep." Rest well, Dad. You have earned it.

Sorry to hear about your dad's passing. Please accept our sincere condolences. I admired your dad's tenacity to carry on with life the best he could after your mom had passed on. I would meet him grocery shopping from time to time and he always had a positive attitude. Good for him. - Posted by: JOANNE and BARRIE CARMAN (FRIEND) on: Jul 18, 2015

One of the greatest gifts that I'm thankful for "Uncle Ralph" is the knowledge of the family history that he knew so well. Helping me with photos from Germany. Thank you Uncle Ralph may you rest well. - Posted by: Cheryl Guttman (Mohr) () on: Jul 18, 2015

I am not sure but I think we spend every long weekend and some part of every summer vacation of my entire childhood in Gunton/Teulon visiting our grandparents. The best part was having extended family to visit as well. A weekend was never complete without hearing, "kids get ready, we are heading over to Moeller's". In the car in two minutes flat. Going to the Moeller's meant pillow fights and forts at age five, motorbikes at age 12, maybe driving Uncle Herman's car at 14, Def Leppard and the GTO at age17. Through all of this the two constants we could count on were meringue cookies from Auntie Margaret and a joke or prank from Uncle Ralph. Would absolutely not change a thing. This was the best way to spend my youth. Your entire family is the best. Thoughts and prayers from the Mohr family. - Posted by: Chris Mohr (2nd Cousin but he was always Uncle Ralph) on: Jul 18, 2015

To the Moeller children, It seems like a full chapter of life has closed with your dad's passing. Remember when we used to all play together on the farm as kids while our parents visited. Your dad was an inspiration as he battled ill health over the years. May he rest well in the company of your mom (also an amazing lady), I will never forget them. Take care of yourselves.
