IRMA PFEIFFER
Born: Aug 28, 1938
Date of Passing: Jul 17, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRMA PFEIFFER (nee POHL) After almost four years of being apart, on July 17, 2015, at St. Boniface Hospital, Irma was reunited with her husband Helmut. Irma was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Helmut, brothers Waldemar and Arnold Pohl. She is survived by her brother Arthur (Meta) Pohl, sister-in-law Helene Pohl, daughters Charlotte Pohl and Christa (Steve) Probert, grandchildren Carrie and Lori Pohl, Andrew, Curtis and Lindsay Probert, great-grandson Luke Dueck, many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Born in Slomiak, Poland, on August 28, 1938, Irma immigrated to Winnipeg where she met and later married Helmut on May 24, 1958. When the girls were born Irma stayed at home and dedicated her life to her family. Irma and Helmut enjoyed travelling, whether it was Europe, Africa, Hawaii, Cuba or loading up the van and exploring North America. They were very happy while enjoying a simple lifestyle when travelling. A bratwurst and a crusty bun was all that was needed. When in Winnipeg Irma spent her spare time bowling and baking. Being an exceptional baker, the girls loved her pfefferkuchen (gingerbread cookies) and mohnkuchen (poppy seed cake). As good as the baking was, everyone would fill up on her cabbage rolls (known affectionately as cabbage roasts), red cabbage or homemade chicken soup. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, July 23, at 11:00 a.m. at Albright Church, 3400 DeVries Ave., East St. Paul, MB. Family will gather for a private interment at a later time. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Heart and Stroke Foundation for Manitoba would be appreciated.

We as a family wish to extend our heart felt condolences at the loss of your mother. My family used to visit with your parents. I was a young adolescent when your parents began to have children. You may and you may not remember me. - Posted by: Anita Krohn - Smolinski (Daughter to Amy and Erwin Smolinski who had been good friends to Irma and Helmut) on: Jul 22, 2015
