Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATERYNA HLUSZOK September 4, 1925 - July 28, 2015 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that our family announces the peaceful passing of Kateryna on July 28, 2015 at the age of 89. She is survived by her sons Zenon (Cindy), Ihor (Denise) and daughter Myroslawa (Mark) Beleshinski, her grandchildren Adam, Adrian, Anton, Evelyne, Tom, and Daniel, brother Petro and cousin Nick (Clara) Olinyk. Predeceased by her loving husband Iwan in 2002, her parents Wasyl and Rozalia Halowec, sisters Anna, Rozalia, Maria, Parania, and brother Josef. Mom and Dad met and married in England after the Second World War and immigrated to Winnipeg devoting their lives to raising their growing family. Kateryna was very proud of her children and grandchildren and their many accomplishments. A loving wife and caring mother, Kateryna raised a young family while working evenings. She always found time during her busy days to tend to her garden envied by all. Mom's strong unwavering Ukrainian Catholic faith and belief in God guided her through life's many hardships as well as inspiring her daily prayers and attending daily mass. She willingly volunteered her time and energy participating in Ukrainian Catholic Women's League meetings and functions as well as weekly Cathedral cleanings until her health prevented her from continuing. Prayers will be sung 7:30 p.m., Thursday, July 30 at the Ukrainian Catholic Metropolitan Cathedral of Sts. Vladimir and Olga - 115 McGregor St. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 31 also at the Cathedral with Msgr. Michael Buyachok officiating. Dear Zenon, Ihor, Myroslawa: I mourn your loss of your dear Mama, with deep admiration for her long life, her strong faith, and for all the goodness she bestowed upon me when I lived in Winnipeg. She was always kind, of pleasant demeanour and had a sweet spirit. I will always remember her for culinary talents- her varenyky were the best!
