SHELDON LEVY It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Sheldon Levy, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend on July 30, 2015. Sheldon will be dearly missed by his children Darryl (Shauna), Martin, and Alan (Cheryl); grandchildren Will, Megan, Dalia and Aviva; sister Bernice; brother-in-law Barry Myers and many other relatives and friends. Sheldon was predeceased by his wife Audrey; parents Isaac (Jack) and Mary Levy; stepmother Rose Levy; brother-in-law Dr. Marvin (Buddy) Stern and sister-in-law Molly Myers. A few days before his passing, Sheldon turned 87. He lived a long and productive life full of adventure, happiness, family and great memories. Sheldon, the son of Eastern European immigrants, was a first generation Canadian. He was a pioneer in the Manitoba fashion industry, and travelled the world in search of the next innovation in design and garment manufacturing. As a healthy and vibrant man, Sheldon was happiest when surrounded by family, or traveling the world with Audrey, the love of his life. Sheldon cherished his family. He melted whenever he was around his grandchildren, whom he adored. His was a provider of sage advice and always inspired with his work ethic, integrity, great sense of humour and his faith. Sheldon spent the last few years at the Simkin Centre. The staff on Simkin 2 were the most caring, loving and supportive team, and surrounded Sheldon with attentiveness, compassion and dignity. Sheldon was very fond of the staff on Simkin 2, especially Stacey, who was an angel for Sheldon in the last phase of his life as he battled dementia. Sheldon was a loving father, proud of his children and grandchildren. We will miss you Dad, with your laughter, positive spirit and kindness. You will forever live in our hearts and minds. Funeral services took place on July 31, 2015 at the Rosh Pina Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Simkin Centre, www.simkincentre.ca would be something that would make Sheldon smile.

Uncle Sheldon had a very strong bond with my son, Simon. He and Simon used to talk regularly over the phone. Every time they said goodbye Uncle Sheldon would say 'I love you all the way to the moon'. At which point Simon would say the same. It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Uncle Sheldon. He is survived by my mother, his sister, Bernice Stern. - Posted by: Elisa Stern (niece) on: Aug 01, 2015

I accepted a position at Imperial Leather in 1969 and soon became friends with Sheldon and Audrey. Due to distance we didn't get together often after I moved away with my husband and young family but Sheldon and I always stayed in regular contact. He was a wonderful teacher of so many different things and had a huge influence on my ability to achieve a truly happy life. I will think of him with love for the rest of my life. I'm sad to say goodbye to a very great man. - Posted by: Jacquie Dufresne (friend) on: Jul 31, 2015
