  • I had the privilege of working with Lionel in the hog barn twice! In 2008 and 2011. He was so kind and friendly and respectful. Enjoyed his stories very much! So sad to hear of his passing..he will be sorely missed but at least he is free from his pain. - Posted by: Rosanne Russell (Friend and Co-Worker) on: Aug 27, 2015

  • I enjoyed listening to his stories very much! I will never forget that he taught me how to cut bale twine with just your bare hands! I enjoyed the Bible discussions that Lionel and my Dad and I had. Look forward to seeing him again some day! - Posted by: Martin Schellenberg (Friend and Neighbor) on: Aug 27, 2015

  • I have worked with Lionel for seven years in the hog barn. He was never late and a great worker. Lionel and I were a good team in the hog barn. We worked well together and he always had my back. A better friend and co-worker I could not ask for. He enjoyed telling us at work about his horses and wasn't afraid to tell us about his mishaps and resulting injuries! We became good friends. We talked lots about his family and his kids successes. He will be truly missed. - Posted by: Marvin Schellenberg (Good Friend and Co-Worker) on: Aug 27, 2015

  • Our condolences to the family of Lionel. He was our neighbor and bale buyer for his horses. We had many a good visits and he enjoyed getting produce from our garden. We shared cucumbers, tomatoes and potatoes and sometimes we even sent along a plate of pancakes. One day after his work he came by for bales while we were outside having a BBQ and he joined us for a burger or two and good chit chat. We enjoyed his funny stories and his laugh and smile. He would say he read the Bible before bed and could not sleep if he hadn't. - Posted by: Dick and Agatha Schellenberg and Family (Friend and Neighbors ) on: Aug 27, 2015

  • I got to know Lionel in 2003. We worked together at Sierra Swine the pig barn. He was a hard working individual who didn't give up easily. He had many stories to share of his past and was always willing to sit and listen to your stories as well. You won't be forgotten. - Posted by: Sherrie Dueck (Friend) on: Aug 25, 2015
