Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE EDWARD TANNER Peacefully after a lengthy illness, it is with deep regret that we announce the passing of George Edward Tanner of Winnipeg, MB on Monday, August 31, 2015, at the Grace Hospital, at the age of 81 years. George leaves behind Elsie, beloved wife of 54 years; children, Kim (Robert), Norman (Tammy), and Michael (Ruth); grandchildren, Christin (Braydon), Mark, Jade, Jordon and Sarah; sister, Mina (Ron); two nieces and two nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, father and brother. In 1952, George joined the Forces, stationed at many Bases throughout Canada and Europe. He retired in 1980. Upon retirement George accepted a position of Staff Officer in Cadet Movements where he spent the next 17 years. He retired in 1997 to enjoy some travelling. George belonged to Mason Lodge 121. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015 between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. in ANAF #283, 3584 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. We would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff of 5 North Grace Hospital and Christin for all her help. In lieu of flowers, donations in George's name may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. A Celebration of George's Life will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015 between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. in the ANAF Unit 283, 3584 Portage Avenue.
