PAUL CURTIS CHASKEY JR. (SONNY BOY) July 17, 1990 - September 2, 2015 It is with heart breaking sorrow that we announce the accidental passing of our beloved son, father, grandson, brother, cousin, nephew and friend. He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife Darcie; sons, Dre, Kubby, and baby Darcy; his parents Paul Sr. and Peggy Campbell; in-laws Ed Smith and Chery Hayden; grandmothers, Mary Chaskey and Valerie Harper (nee Campbell); his siblings: sister Robyn Campbell, her sons Cree, Joe, and Trey; sister Shyan, her daughters Taylor and Stonee; sister Naomi; sister Zoe, her daughter Heavenly; sister Laura, her son Bentley, daughter Elaina; sisters Angel and Haylee; brothers: Kevin, Storm, Rayne, and Wallace; aunts Priscilla Chaskey, and Jennifer Campbell; uncles Skjerven, Melvin, Jonathan Chaskey and Christopher Campbell. He also leaves to mourn his passing numerous great-aunts, great-uncles, in-laws, cousins, also the cousin whom he called auntie or uncle, and all who came to know him and called Paul Jr. their friend. Paul Jr. was predeceased by his sister Kathleen, grandpa Elijah Harper, grandpa Wallace Chaskey, grandpa Calvin Nelson, auntie Merideth Chaskey, and cousins Matthew Nelson and Evan Nelson. Anyone who knew Jr. knew that he was kind, respectful, funny and he loved to joke around with his family and friends kind of guy. He was a happy go lucky kid. He was also a daddy's boy, his father always gave into him, even when he was annoying, especially to his mom Peggy. He loved to play the slot machines, he liked to have drinks with family and friends, and was great to have around. No matter what time it was he always wanted to go home to his boys. He loved his family dearly, he took good care of his wife and boys to the fullest. Jr was what you called a talented kid. He knew how to work at all sorts of jobs; fixing games, computers to handling heavy machinery. Jr. was so full of life and wanted the best for himself and his family. No matter how tired he would be, he would take care of his wife when she was sick and also tend to his boys. We will miss him dearly. Wake and funeral services will be held at Roseau River Anishinabe First Nation on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Makoons. Interment to follow at Roseau Rapids Reserve, his final resting place.
