JOYCE EMILY WEIPPERT (RYNER) Joyce Emily Weippert (Ryner) passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the age of 81 years, after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. On July 27, 1934 Joyce was born in Montréal, Québec to her late parents Edward and Emily Weippert (nee Fuller). She grew up with her siblings, Edward, Nelson, Diane and Linda. Joyce attended secretary school at the "Mother House" and worked as a legal secretary with several Montréal law firms in order to raise her four sons, Perry (deceased), Roderick, Lawrence and Carson Ryner. She later moved to Ottawa, Ontario and finally to Winnipeg, Manitoba to be closer to her many grandchildren (her "little angels"). From a young age to her final days, Joyce was blessed with a beautiful singing voice which could always be heard soaring above all others at church. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in Lion's Place Auditorium, 610 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. Interment will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Montréal Memorial Gardens, 3955 Cote de Liesse Avenue, Montréal, QC.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • We were so fortunate to share a small part of Joyce's life. When she sang at Dad's funeral my Mom, Dolly, said "I think Joyce and I will be good friends". That was the beginning of a great friendship where many plays , concerts and laughs were shared in the years to come. Joyce realy helped fill the void for Mom after Dad's passing. Dolly and Joyce were a source of strength and comfort to each other. Our thoughts and prayers are with Diane, Lawrence and family. May you always keep your fond memories close. - Posted by: Heather Clarke and Family (Daughter of Joyce's friend Dolly Clarke ) on: Oct 07, 2015

  • Rod, Job and I were so very glad to have met your Mother. We are all so very sorry for your loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with you all. - Posted by: Lyndsay, Job, Christian and Amanda Mollins Koene (Family Friends) on: Oct 01, 2015

  • Rob and I send our condolences to Rod, Ellen, Christine and the entire Ryner family. May she stay with you always in your hearts. Much love from Kenya - Posted by: Kathleen Sinclair (Roderick's sister-in-law) on: Sep 30, 2015
