RICHARD FOREST Peacefully, with his family at his side, Richard Jules Forest passed away in Winnipeg on September 30, 2015, at the age of 56 years. He is survived by his wife Karen (nee Evason) and their daughter Amanda; his mother Edvige, his sister, Sharon (Michael) Darden, and brother, Ronald (Janice). Richard was predeceased by his father Joseph. Growing up, Richard was an adventurous child who was willing to try anything once and I often wondered how we never were seriously hurt. When he was 20 years old, Richard joined the Canadian Forces as a paratrooper in the Airborne Regiment. Upon his release from the military Richard met Karen at a Winnipeg Jets hockey game and they married soon after. A few years later they welcomed their daughter Amanda to the world and Richard was especially proud of all her academic and musical accomplishments. In the late 1990s Richard became a proficient expert on the personal computer and soon became the technical support person for his family and many of his friends. Though Richard's life may have been short, he truly lived it to its fullest and took every opportunity to celebrate events. The funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the Precieux Sang Roman Catholic Church, 200 Kenny Street, Winnipeg, at 1:00 p.m. The family extends special thanks to the staff at the Riverview Health Centre for all the care given to Richard. Donations may be made to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation, One Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4, in his memory.
