  • To my dear Aunt Fran... I have many great memories of our families growing up together, but nothing will surpass the time I was hospitalized for a few months back in 2007, and Ron, Colleen and you drove in to Montreal from Ottawa just to visit me. Not just visit, but you took me outside for the first time in over 8 weeks. It was my first venture outside of my hospital room in over 2 months in the fresh air and sunshine, and we all went for Harvey's cheeseburgers and Dunkin Donuts for dessert. It was a huge deal to be outside after being cooped up for so long (and eating hospital food). But you guys driving in from Ottawa was no real surprise, because that's what our families did, we watched out for each other took care of each other when called upon. The Batts, the Wimbles, the Keepings... we were family. And it was that moment, as I inhaled that burger and fries I realized how blessed I was to have such an awesome extended family. Thank you Aunt Fran, I will always remember your kindness and thoughtfulness on that day, and all the wonderful memories of years past, with you and Mar-Har-Ro-Ken. - Posted by: Don Wimble (nephew) on: Oct 07, 2015
