  • I am so sad to hear of his passing ! He was a fantastic doctor, and a very kind man. He always had a hunting story to share with my husband, a joke to share with me, and a lollipop for my son. The whole family loved him. The best doctor I ever had. May he rest in peace. - Posted by: Colleen Orvis (Patient) on: Feb 17, 2016

  • To Dr Gerber: I and my son are devastated to just learn of your passing. I kept hoping you would regain your health and return to your clinic. We moved with you from Sherbrook clinic to your nee clinic because you were such a great Dr. We were so very concerned when you became ill. We'll never find another Dr. who was so caring and thorough, to find a path to wellness for his patients. Sincere condolences to your family. Our family misses you beyond words can say. You were the best Dr ever. G.Klymchuk family - Posted by: Gail Klymchuk (Patients) on: Feb 15, 2016

  • My deepest condolences to Dr. Gerber's family and friends. I was a patient of Dr Gerber's and for the most part agree with everyone else…the fact that he was a truly compassionate person with an awesome sense of humour and never made me feel rushed. I looked forward to our regular appointments. You couldn't help but be in a good mood around him. I feel honoured to have known him. RIP Dr Gerber. - Posted by: Corinne Gawriluk (Patient) on: Jan 27, 2016

  • So sorry to hear of Dr. Gerber's passing. I was a patient for a few years and appreciated his knowledge & willingness to listen & try for the best approach to any problems. We talked about our cars; remember the night meeting at the Pony Corral . . . still not sure how he actually got into his Austin Mini ;-) , but it was a wonder watching the procedure. You are truly missed. - Posted by: Brent '38 Chev (Patient) on: Dec 16, 2015

  • As Dan's sister I would like to thank you all for your kind words of memories and love for my brother. He surely was a special brother and person, and our loss is undescribable. Even though we didn't see him a lot while he was in Canada, he was still in our hearts and will always be. I do not have words with regards to his long suffering, but believe he is at a better place now. RIP Danie. - Posted by: Alta Fourie (Gerber) (Sister) on: Nov 25, 2015

  • Dr. Gerber was my Doctor starting in 2005. He was a great listener, was very thorough in his assessments, and always had time to share a joke or a story. I noticed he seemed so much more content after he opened his own practice on st. mary's. Dr. Gerber often spoke about the importance of having balance in your life. He looked forward to the trip to s.africa and shared his plans and excitement. As someone mentioned in a previous post, "he made you feel like you were his only patient". I was so saddened to hear about his condition, and called the office often with the hope that he was improving and would return in good health. Such an enormous loss, for such a wonderful man and talented physician. My condolences to his wife and children, and all those whose lives have been touched by this gentle giant. - Posted by: Cynthia watson (Patient) on: Oct 07, 2015

  • Please accept our deepest sympathies at the loss of a wonderful man. Dr. Gerber came into our lives at a time in our lives when we needed the support and caring of a doctor. He became more than that over the years as he took care of not only Dennis and I but Dennis's mother, my father and several other family members. He was truly our family doctor. We were so looking forward to seeing him again and hearing his stories of his last trip to S. Africa. He told us of his plans on our last visit to see him and he was so looking forward it. We will miss this gentle, loving man. - Posted by: Karen and Dennis Nelson, Stephen Crane (Patients) on: Oct 07, 2015

  • Dr. Gerber was my husband's GP for many years ... they both researched and fought the mystery surrounding Terry's invisible illness. We lost touch when we travelled to Germany and Dr. Gerber was going to S. Africa ... we heard of his devastating condition and journey back to ICU here in Winnipeg. We missed his caring attention but prayed for favourable outcome. Alas. They both enjoyed fast cars - Dr. Gerber scared the pants off Terry on a test drive of his/their special Camaro!! They are on a race track together I hope. Heartfelt condolences to your family . - Posted by: Cathy Murray (patient's spouse) on: Oct 06, 2015

  • I'm so sorry to hear of your passing, I know you really wanted to open the new clinic and I know you would be proud of it if you could see it. I was sad to hear about you getting sick in Africa and then learning of your death today at an appointment and I was shocked as the last time I was there you were still with us I hope you did not suffer and I wish your family all the support they can find as they grieve your heavy loss. - Posted by: The Artist (Patient) on: Oct 06, 2015

  • I'm so shocked and saddened by the need of Dr Gerber's passing. He was such a kind and caring Dr who had such compassion for his patients I was very lucky to call him my Dr. He spoke fondly of his travels to South Africa, and introduced me to Rooibos tea which I've come to love. He always found a way to put you at ease and often had a fun joke to tell. He will be greatly missed by everyone. My condolences to his family and friends. He was truly a special person. - Posted by: Paula Corcoran (Patient ) on: Oct 04, 2015

  • My Wife and I are Heartbroken at the Death of this good Man , he was more then just our Doctor he was a really good friend he always told us lots of jokes and we really loved that big smile of his he spoke about his kids and Grandkids with a great deal of affection . In the 10 years we went to him he always treated us like we were the only patients in the world . His compassion showed when I went through some very serious health problems and when I got well I did not know who was happier him or me also my Wife's maiden name is Gerber so they had that in common and we used to discuss the fact that we were Jewish and yet they both had the same last name and they would talk about there roots . When Dr. Gerber got sick I phoned the clinic once a week until before he passed away and I looked forward to seeing him when he came back guess it was not meant to be. My wife and I will never forget him R.I.P. my friend and to the family we are sorry for your loss. - Posted by: David Salita (Patient ) on: Oct 04, 2015

  • I am so sorry to see Dr. Gerber has died. We were stunned by his illness and my mom missed her visits with him alot as did I. He was kind and patient and always willing to do that little extra for people and had a joke ready most visits. Mom and Dr. Gerber shared the same bday so that was a bond. She will be 90 next bday and sad that Dr. GERBER was not as blessed. He always spoke of family...we talked of grandchildren. and how special they are. Sincere sympathy from our family. Our son and daughter in law saw Dr. Gerber too. God Bless. Linda and Richard Jones and Ethel Pfeil and Matt and Stacie Jones - Posted by: Linda Jones (patients daughter) on: Oct 03, 2015
