KENNETH RICHARD BOLT March 23, 1923 - October 2, 2015 Peacefully with his family at his side, Ken passed away on October 2, 2015 at the Simkin Centre, at the age of 92 years. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 65 years, Doreen; his son Kevin (Bonnie) of Winnipeg and daughter Karen Bailey (Bill) of Denver. His grandchildren Ken (Kerri), Christopher (Stephanie), Ashley (Jesse), Matthew, Pamela (Nick), Colin (Kelly), Daniel (Catherine), Lianne (Bohdan), Jennifer (Dustin) and great-grandchildren Lucas, Nicholas, Hudson, Harper, and Mila will also miss their "Gramps". Also left to mourn his passing are nieces and nephews and well-loved friends. Ken was predeceased by his mother Alice, father Henry and sister Doreen. He was born and raised in Carman, Manitoba. As a young man he worked for various banks across western Canada. On June 6, 1950 he married the love of his life Doreen. Ken became a Chartered Accountant and worked for the Hudson Bay Northern Stores for 31 years. Ken was an avid golfer, starting at age six, until last year. He enjoyed hockey, duck hunting, curling, singing, vacationing annually to the West Coast and walking daily with his wife Doreen ("Dode"). Upon his retirement Ken and Doreen travelled to Island House on North Padre Island for 23 years and enjoyed being "Winter Texans". The rest of the time was spent enjoying his Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, friends and Happy Hour. A Celebration of Ken's life has taken place on October 6, 2015.
