My condolences to the Soza family. I've known Carmen and her family since 1983 and have a lot of good memories of the their early days in Canada. Jim - Posted by: Jim Maloway (long-time friend) on: Oct 23, 2015

Carmen lived life with passion! She cared deeply about what was just or unjust. She worked hard at her career for 35 years at the St. Boniface Hsp. She had a keen intelligence. Through disappointments, sorrows and through life, she persevered. Though without a doubt, she loved her country of Chile, she also loved Canada, making it her home for near 40 years. At Christmas, it made her happy to decorate her home, lighting up the neighborhood with huge angels, reindeer, Santa and snowmen on the roof and hundreds of lights everywhere! One year the city gave her an award for her fabulous display. Carmen was kind and hospitable. We remember the delicious meals with amazing Spanish dishes that she would work days in preparing. It made her happy to have friends and loved ones around her table in the winter and in the summer on the patio surrounded by her favorite flowers in the garden, the pansies and petunias. In the last few years, she did not have the strength to do that, and so we enjoyed having her come to join us. She was appreciative and loving. We loved this dear friend and will miss her very much. We send our sincere condolences to the family and friends that also will miss her. - Posted by: Rhoda & Guillermo (Friends) on: Oct 22, 2015
