Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVERNON FRANCIS FOCHT August 2, 1942 - October 16, 2015 It is with sadness we announce that on Friday evening, October 16, 2015 at the age of 73 years, Vernon passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side. Vernon leaves behind his sister, Marlene Renne of Kenora, Ontario, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and many special friends. Vernon was predeceased by his father, John E. Focht in 1968, mother, Anna S. Wrigley (nee Focht) in 1991; sister, Ann Ratti (nee Focht) in 2002, and sister Verona Smith (nee Focht) in 2015. Vernon was always willing to help his family and friends and his ability to entertain us with his music will be greatly missed. In accordance with Vern's wishes, no formal service is planned. A private gathering will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in Vernon's name may be made to The Manitoba Cancer Association. We believe Vernon would want us to remember the happy times we've shared with him, like the poem Afterglow I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when day is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways of happy times, and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun. Of happy memories I leave Behind when the day is done

Dear Vern: I miss you already especially our 7:00 phone calls every night. I will always cherish your last visit home to see you surrounded by many friends and loved ones.
