I don't believe I ever got you meet you while you were living, but you sound like you were a cool dude. I only recently learned of your existence due to your obituary, as well as the obituaries of two of your siblings. Sadly from what I can tell, I seem to be the only remaining descendant of your biological family. I visit your grave in Dunrea yearly when I can with my mothers adoptive family/my foster family. You're burried down there with my mother, as well as your sister Linda. One thing we all had in common, it seems, was our interest in the arts. I too worked in graphic arts for some time, as well as having wanted (and still wanting) a career in mental health. The stories people have of you helping them out in trying times has been incredibly inspirational, and I hope to one day be able to follow in your footsteps in terms of being a better member of my community and helping those in need. - Posted by: Alycia Lavoie (Grandniece) on: Aug 09, 2024

Dear Linda and the Boulet and Lavoie Families. I offer my condolences on the early passing of Walter. I remember him well as he was a freind and companion to Ian, and from my frequent visits in the Boulet home. A nice young kid-he is remembered well. He looks like he grew into such a nice man. A ship sails and I stand watching it till it fades on the horizon. Someone at my side says, "He is gone." Gone where? Gone from my sight. That is all. He is just as large as when I saw him. The diminished size and total loss of sight is in me, not in him. And just at that moment, when someone at your side says, " He is gone" There are others who are watching Him coming. And other voices take up the glad shout. "Here he comes!" That is what dying is. An horizon and just the limit of our sight. Adapted from ‘The Ship’ by Bishop Brent Remembering Walter and all of you.
