JOAN MITCHELL (nee ANDERSON) May 4, 1935 - December 3, 2015 With family by her side, Joan left this world to be with the love of her life, Fred and their son Ray. Joan leaves to mourn her three daughters, Cheryl, Geraldine (Steve) and Charlene (Tim), 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Sisters: Dianne (Bill), Bev (Dave); brother Orville (Marilyn); brother-in-law Gordon and numerous nieces and nephews. Joan and Fred's door was always open to anyone, so for many she was like a mother and loved unconditionally. She loved to have her family around her, so there were many big family dinners over the years and we played a lot of cards. Joan was an avid bingo player, if there was a big pot' somewhere, she would be there. Joan loved to watch her grandkids play sports, baseball was her favourite. Everyone who had a chance to try her homemade bread and cinnamon buns fell in love at first bite. She will be sadly missed but not forgotten. She will be in our hearts forever. We will love you always. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

  • It was like a second home to me. Auntie Joan was always there. I remember going for lunch there quite often and having tomato soup and grilled cheese. Even to this day every time I have tomato soup think of Auntie Joan. Her bread was awesome and every time I walked in the house Uncle Fred would yell " Joan lock the fridge"and with a smile she would giggle and fix you a snack. I remember when I ran away from home at 13, I went all the way down the street and stayed at Auntie Joan's. Sorry Auntie Joan I never got to see you much in laters years of life, but you and Uncle Freddie definitely have a lot of memories with me that have had an impact on me. - Posted by: Ryan McLaughlin (Nephew) on: Feb 13, 2016

  • I wish I could call you, and talk like we always did. Gram, I miss you. I think of you often and I will always be close to you. You are one of a kind, and you gave me support and confidence when I needed it most. Love you so much, I'm sorry we didn't spend more time together during the last years. That will be a regret I have for the rest of my life. - Posted by: Curtis Deprez (Grandson) on: Feb 13, 2016
