JASON CROLLY It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jason Crolly, aged 36 years, following a short illness. His passing at the Health Sciences was a peaceful one, surrounded by family and friends. Jason is survived by his father, Ken Crolly, grandmother Florence Crolly, uncle and aunt Jack and Darlene Crolly, and cousins Colin (Jennifer) Crolly and Allison (Ken Dressler) Crolly. Jason will also be mourned by his many friends, particularly in the skateboarding community which he loved so much. Jason was predeceased by his mother, Linda Crolly, and his grandparents Bryce and Agnes Fergusson, and Jack Crolly Sr. Jason lived his life to the full, but he was never so alive, as when he was on a skateboard. He took up skateboarding as a young boy and worked at it till he exceled at the sport. For a period, he received sponsorships from manufacturers and traveled across North America and Europe, competing and demonstrating skateboarding to fans. This passion for skateboarding never left him. Jason's other passion in life was golf, and he was never know to turn down a chance for a round, whatever the weather. On occasion he would drag others (especially his father), kicking and screaming onto the golf course in the midst of a rain or snow storm, because he did not want to miss a chance at "one more round". Jason's family wish to express their thanks to those who have been so supportive during this trying period. We would like to thank the doctors and staff of the SICU ward at Health Sciences Centre for the sensitive and compassionate way they cared for Jason, and the way they helped us through a difficult situation. We'd especially like to thank Jason's friends Ryan, Jillian, Tyler, Barry and Matt for the wonderful support they have provided. Interment to follow at a later date.

I had the pleasure of knowing Jason for over ten years, played several rounds of golf with him and had many skate sessions with him in Canada and in Europe, I can't explain what a complete shock it was when I heard the passing of my good friend and someone myself and tons of other skaters had come to think of as indestructible, my condolences go out to his family and friends in Winnipeg, Jason was always one of those people that no mater where he went people loved him and wanted to be around him, not only has the skate community suffered a massive blow with Jason's passing, but the world has lost one of its brightest stars, although he is gone he will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace Cronzy, keep the ledges waxed and the greens mown, until we meet again big man. - Posted by: Kris Richardson (Friend) on: Mar 03, 2016

15 years ago Jason secured a permanent place in my heart. I love and miss him very much. My thoughts go out to Ken and all those who are grieving. Jason is such a special soul. - Posted by: Bryena Chapman (Former girlfriend, always a friend) on: Mar 02, 2016

Jason was by far the most honest, straight forward, kind hearted person I have ever met in my life. there is no one that will ever fill the void in my life his passing has left. I will miss you my friend but I know you are skating and grinding all the rails up in the big skate park in the sky. love you brother - Posted by: Matt loudon (Friend) on: Mar 02, 2016

I grew up skating around the same time as Jason and am happy to have called him my friend for 20 plus years. Jason's progression in skateboarding was fast a fierce and I soon found myself and pretty much everyone who we skated with miles behind him in terms of talent and raw cajones. What I admire the most about Jason is that as he started winning comps, getting sponsors, filming parts and doing demos... he never changed and never forgot his roots. He was still as pumped as ever to see me land a new trick no matter how small or make a birdie even though I shot well over 100 on the round. He was as humble and kind as they come and will be deeply missed. Rest easy my friend. - Posted by: Kieran McCormick (amigo) on: Mar 02, 2016

I was deeply saddened to read of Jason's passing. I am pretty sure his first job was with our company and Jason cut his teeth from the age of 18 in the stressful and challenging newspaper industry. Over the 16 plus years Jason worked for us, his motivation, professionalism and acumen was greatly appreciated. He will be sincerely missed by all of us past and present at Winsun Distributing that were fortunate enough to interact with him Darren Lewis (Winsun Distributing) - Posted by: Darren Lewia (Former Employer) on: Feb 29, 2016

Our deepest sympathy to Ken, Aunty Florence and family. I know how close the two of you were Ken and how you must be suffering. Jason was such a caring, free spirit with such a great sense of humour. I have never watched Jason skateboard in person but have watched many videos and he was unbelievable. So many people said the kindest things about him. So sorry for your loss and he shall be missed by so many. - Posted by: Carol & Dave McLeod (Ken's cousin) on: Feb 29, 2016

Jason possessed incredible talent and a fearless spirit combined with a spartan work ethic. He directed his passion to materialize into unbelievably great skateboarding where he would do the things nobody else would do, and he would not stop until he mastered whatever he challenged himself with. From watching all the skateboarding videos of him you gain a deep respect and awe of all the many obstacles he conquered. I never had the honour of spending big chunks of time getting to know Jason, but I know he was an all around solid guy from how well he treated people I know and how much love and respect so many people send his way. From reading the many tributes to Jason, the more I learn about him the more I admire him, especially his no holds barred attitude to live life on his own terms and his pure dedication to his sport. I wish more people were like him. He was a truly authentic down to earth guy. I wish I had crossed paths in life with him more. I will always admire him and I thank him for being so good to people I know. So sad for the loss of such a kindred spirit. You are gone too soon, but will never be forgotten. Thank you for blessing this world with your presence. There will never be another like you. - Posted by: Candace Corroll (Friend/Aquantaince) on: Feb 28, 2016
