JOHNNY DENNIS DITCHFIELD May 1, 1963 - February 23, 2016 Our beloved Johnny left us for his eternal home on Tuesday, February 23, 2016. Johnny bravely endured many health related issues in his life. He also enjoyed many things such as fishing at Lake Manitoba Narrows and the Red River. He loved to watch wrestling, curling and NFL football and supported his teams: the Jets, the Bombers, the Jays. He especially loved betting his Proline. In spite of personal trials and suffering, he was always cheerful and focused on the positive without complaining. He loved to get out and socialize and loved his trips to the mall. He always joyfully received visitors; with a smile! He will be dearly missed by his parents James and Shirley, his brothers James and Barry and their families, and his many aunts, uncles, cousins and their families. Memories of Johnny will be cherished in our hearts forever. We look forward to meeting you again "On that beautiful shore" some day! Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I would like to say my goodbyes to a wonderful cousin. one of the three ditchfield cousins that I have missed dearly ever since they moved back from Victoria b.c. to Winnipeg. I remember the great times we all had playing together while our parents came over to your parents to visit. The strength and endurance that John has always displayed made me a better person. As I always kept in touch with, as he was, and will always forever be in my memories. John was a collector of hockey cards. What can I say, I wanted to contact the oprah show, so john could be one of many miracle people in the world, that showed everyone in life, it does not matter what disabilities one has, you can achieve whatever goals in life that you want. JOHN I LOVE YOU, AND WILL MISS YOU, BUT BELIEVE OUR SPIRITS WILL MEET AGAIN. Thank you for always being who you are...... love from your cousin cindy, and the Vancouver island cousins, and families here in Victoria b.c. - Posted by: Cindy Evans (cousin) on: Mar 04, 2016

  • Nice to know you and I hope to see you some day. Say hi to Lynn for me. Rest in peace.. - Posted by: vince zinni (friend) on: Feb 28, 2016

  • Example of Johnny's kindhearted attitude : feeding and taming a wild chipmunk at The Lake Manitoba Narrows cabin . Johnny's trust in his Daddy on whom he depended to get from place to place ; in & out of their vehicles , boat to go fishing , the house ,etc. Of course , John would do his part by hanging on to dad . A great example of FAITH ! We recall the expression of joy as he reeled in that pickerel into the boat , one of many highlights in his life . Your smile, Johnny ! - Posted by: Lloyd Jersak family (Uncle , auntie , cousins) on: Feb 27, 2016
