SHARON FAYE DANIELS April 1, 1954 - March 3, 2016 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful Sharon Faye Daniels (nee Myran). Peacefully, with the family by her side, Sharon passed away after a determined and courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 61, on March 3, 2016. The amount of love and kindness bestowed upon Sharon and her family can never be put into words. Daily visits from family and friends let her know she was never alone in her fight. Left to mourn and cherish Sharon's memory are her husband of 45 years, Clarence (Bob); daughter Sheri (Keith); son Shawn (Teresa) and her precious granddaughter Halie. She also leaves her brothers Ron and Wayne; sisters Beverly (Alfred), Freida, Doris, Linda and Cindy; numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, large extended family, and the many friends who were blessed with her friendship. Sharon went into the arms of her angels who preceded her, her beautiful daughter Shannon; parents Gordon and Lena; sisters Helen and Rita; brother Wayne Daniels, and nephew Kelly Myran; in-laws Ross and Catherine Daniels, and special friend Jean Prince. She was born at Portage General Hospital and grew up on the Long Plain First Nation. She attended MacGregor High School and the Brandon and Birtle Residential Schools. Sharon met Bob and they married in 1972. Shannon was their first born. Although born with health challenges, Sharon nurtured and honoured the many gifts Shannon shared. Sheri and Shawn followed to complete their loving family whom they raised to become exceptional young adults. Sharon was a loving, gentle, kind-hearted soul, always considerate and giving to others. She especially loved children and demonstrated that through her life work as a child care worker believing that protection for children and building strong families were of utmost importance. Sharon's belief in paying it forward with her residential school funds was to give to those in need. Sharon fulfilled what she felt was her responsibility by providing warm winter wear to ensure that people from northern communities would be warm throughout the winter. This legacy she leaves for her sister Linda to carry out in her memory. Bob and Sharon enjoyed travelling with their children, mom Lena, nieces and nephews to Hawaii and across the States. Sharon enjoyed sewing, making blankets, clothes and yard sales. She also enjoyed family gatherings, BBQ's, playing dice and cards, and solving the daily jumble puzzle. Sharon enjoyed a close knit family and friends' life. Her gentleness and her smile will be forever remembered. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the care Sharon and her family received. A special acknowledgment to her sister Linda, daughter Sheri for their unwavering care and all her other loving caregivers; CancerCare Manitoba; Riverview Health Centre (nurse Theresa); Palliative Care Program and for all those who prayed in her name. The family would also like to thank the Long Plain and Peguis First Nations. Traditional and Christian wake will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge. Traditional feast and Christian and traditional services will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge led by Ron Favell. Interment will take place at the Dauphin-Myerion Cemetery.
