ELEANOR DAVIDSON (nee SHARPE) 1936 - 2016 We are so sad to announce the passing of our mom, Eleanor Davidson on March 16, 2016, at the Grace Hospital Hospice here in Winnipeg, surrounded by family. She fought a long and courageous battle with cancer and was feisty til the very end. She gave those nurses a run for their money! Mom was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan and in her heart, she was always a small town girl with big city dreams. She came to Winnipeg in the 1950s to become a nurse and she was so very proud of that accomplishment. She loved to sing and always had a song in her heart. She met our dad while living in residence and the rest, as they say, was history. She loved her home town and we spent every summer visiting all her brothers and sister. Many great memories in Yorkton. She was predeceased by our father Gordon Davidson, back in June 2004. She has missed him every day since. She leaves to mourn her children Mitch (Michelle), Lori-Ann, and Jennifer (Frank), her brother Barry (Dale), sister Edith, as well as her grandchildren, Josh, Darian, Luca, Nicolas and Mitch Jr., as well as many nieces and nephews. We'd like to thank the many kind staff at both Riverview and the Grace Hospice for looking after Mom these last couple of months. Somewhere over the rainbow Mom - we'll see you again. Always in our hearts. Donations may be made to CancerCare or The Humane Society. A celebration of Mom's life will be held in the spring. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Jen, I am years late on this. I am so sorry to hear your lovely, sweet Mom passed. She was the most adorable and kindest person I’ve ever met. It sounds like she was full of life to the end. Good for her. Jody - Posted by: Jody Verrier (Old friend) on: May 30, 2020

  • I have such fond memories of a time growing up with such wonderful people around me. "Mrs. Davidson," you were always there to mend our scraped knees and elbows. The world has become so much lonelier as we bid farewell to yet another inspiring person from a truly remarkable neighbourhood. You made a difference and I will carry those memories in my heart forever. - Posted by: Dale Whitham (Friend) on: Mar 28, 2016

  • Lori-Ann you look so much like your Mother.....I remember being in awe of her as I thought she was so pretty and nice to all of us girls (way back when...) regardless of what was going on. I've thought of your parents on occasion over the years and I feel blessed to have crossed paths with both of them, especially your Mom. Please take comfort in the realization of how special she truly was. - Posted by: Laurie Vatrt-Smythe (Friend) on: Mar 24, 2016
