Ellen Tower-Pebbles It is with the greatest sadness that we share the news of the sudden passing of our beloved mom, Ellen Tower-Pebbles on March 19, 2016. She was a devoted mom, gramma, daughter, sister, aunty and friend. Her greatest joys were simple - she loved her children, grandchildren family and friends beyond measure. Mom enjoyed her many travels, camping (with friends and family, especially Jocelyn) her beloved dogs, tending her beautiful garden, reading, Hay Day, yard sales, Saturdays and SOA with her dearest Barbie, playing pool at the Legion, yard sales, photographing nature, watching birds (especially geese), Prairie skies, fields and sunsets and wine. With a heart of gold and beautiful soul she touched so many lives. She was a humble soul, always seeing the best in others and accepting people as they were. Our mom was a true caregiver always putting others first. She will forever be remembered for her bright smile, contagious laugh, sense of humour and willingness to always lend a hand. As Sean said it best, "in the dictionary under mother would be Ellen Tower". We will love, miss and treasure your memory forever. On behalf of her children Jennifer (Brad) and Sean, and her beloved grandchildren Nyah, Shelby and Chase, we would like to thank everyone for their love and support. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Winnipeg Humane Society, or CancerCare Manitoba. A celebration of her life was held at the Charleswood Legion.

  • Christmas is a time for me to think of the people I love and the people who are no longer in my life. Ellen Tower is one of those people. She touched my life in so many ways. She gave me my first job after going back to work after raising my family. She was the best boss anyone could dream of having. She was such a kind and caring person. She was so smart, so particular how she ran her department, at Olivia and St.B. My job was never the same after she left. I admired so many of the qualities she had. She not only was such a great boss but she had this wonderful infectious laugh, she loved her 2 children, her beautiful daughter who looked just like her and her beloved son. I admired everything about the kind of person she was. I still miss her, she had such an impact on my life. - Posted by: marianne humphreys (co-worker, friend, employee) on: Dec 07, 2022

  • I fist met Ellen in 1987. She interviewed me for a job in her department. I instantly liked her and I felt she felt the same. She was the nicest boss I have ever had. I worked for her for 20 years until she retired. She was the supervisor of the Records dept. at Cancer Care MB. She knew the system at CCM inside and out. She was probably the best transcriptionist and supervisor anyone has ever had. She was brilliant at her job in her quiet unassuming way. Dr. Beecroft used to affectionately call her E.T.. She was able to do every single job in the Records department at CCM and at the Records dept at St.B. She was a wonderful mother, she absolutely loved her 2 children. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever know. She always encouraged me to apply for different positions, to do every position in records (except transcription.) We both worked until 5 pm and even though we paid attention to our jobs we still had a lot of laughs. She had that wonderful infectious laugh. She had a wonderful sense of humor. I saw her a few times after she retired and it was like the first time I met her. She was just a wonderful boss, friend and person. She was the kind of person you instantly liked, and would love forever. She had that beautiful smile that could light up a room. - Posted by: marianne humphreys (co-worker, friend) on: Mar 10, 2017
