ERMINA (MINA) FARLEY January 26, 1933 - April 15, 2016 It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing, of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mina Farley, on April 15, 2016, at Heritage Lodge with family by her side. Mina is survived by her husband of 64 years, John (Jack) Farley, daughters Donna (Darryl) Rudge and Pat (Ross) McBey, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Jennifer (Chris, Evan and Dylan) Friesen, David (Kate, Ethan and Conor) Rudge, Kristy (Tom, Brayden, Liam, Peyton and Jack) McFee, Steven McBey (Janie) and Tristan McBey (Erica and Ryan). She also leaves to mourn her passing her siblings Bob Berryere, Jean (Fred) Daley, Jim Berryere and Judy (Eric) Strom, in-laws Sylvia Berryere, Mame McLaren, Gord (Pat) Farley and Les Slingsby as well as many nieces and nephews. Mina was predeceased by her parents, George and Christina Berryere, brothers William and Edward, in-laws, Thelma Wade, Edna Barnes, Kathleen Slingsby, Arlene Berryere, Guy Gauthier and great-granddaughter, Christine Ann Friesen. Mina was born in Neudorf, SK and raised in Melville, SK. She met Jack on his visits to his aunt, who lived next door, and they married on October 13, 1951. Mina and Jack lived most of their married life in Winnipeg, retiring to their cottage at Barrier Bay, then moving to Beausejour and back to Winnipeg. For many years, Mina worked for G. E. Shnier, beginning as an office clerk and finally as credit manager. While she enjoyed her work, her passions were large family gatherings (the bigger the better) which always included friends who were like family. Her flower gardens were the envy of her neighbourhoods and she excelled at petit point. Mina and Jack loved to go on long road trips and spent many winters in Brownsville, TX enjoying the snowbird experience during their retirement. She loved music and there was nothing better than a good dance! In the late 1990s, Mina was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's. With the help of Jack and her Home Care team she was able to remain at home until December when she moved to Heritage Lodge. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Home Care and Heritage Lodge for their excellent care and constant concern. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com
