BERNARD (BERNIE, BOSCO) KOWALL It's with great sadness that on April 22, 2016, at Seven Oaks General Hospital, Bernard (Bernie, Bosco) Kowall passed away peacefully at age 95. He had been receiving dialysis treatment for many years and even though he had days where he was in pain he continued to love life and fight through his illness. Bernard was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Louise, who was the love of his life. He is survived by his son Miles, grandson Jeffery, brother Monte and sister-in-law Cecile. Bernard was a devoted son, husband and caring father and grandfather. He worked in his father's grocery store helping out while attending high school, as well as bringing him lunches from home on a daily basis. He had many friends growing up in Winnipeg which continued into his married life. He loved music from the Big Band era and was a wonderful dancer, attending many dances with Louise at the old Royal Alexandra Hotel. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed NFL football, where the Green Bay Packers was his number one team. Bernard was a fighter; refusing to allow his illness and lack of mobility to stop him from enjoying his time with his family and friends. When asked about further birthdays, he suggested that there was a possibility he may become a centenarian. His funeral took place at Etz Chayim Synagogue, where he was a member, with interment at Shaarey Zedek Cemetery.
