ARTHUR OWEN WEST JAMES 1923 2016 Fortes Usque En Finem Peacefully, at the age of 92 years Arthur died on Sunday, May 29, 2016 in Winnipeg. Arthur is survived by sons, Tony, Stuart and Brian (Karen); grandchildren, Hope, Andrew, Alexandria, Michael, Allison, Aaron, Daniel and great-grandchildren, Eden, Chase and Connor, each of whom retain special and personal memories of their moments with him. He was predeceased by Jean James, his wife of 70 years and son Ian. Born in Sirsa, India to Captain Ewart and Gertrude James. Arthur was educated at Swindon Military College in the UK, subsequently serving with distinction in the British Army - particularly in Burma during the Second World War and rising to the rank of Warrant Officer, until his discharge in 1959. He immigrated to Winnipeg and worked for Manitoba Bridge, then Canadian Tool and Die until retiring in 1988. At Arthur's earnest request, no funeral service will be held, though the family invites all of his former colleagues, other family and friends around the world to take a moment in remembrance of their time in his company.
