KYLE M. SIMMONS August 8, 1973 June 22, 2016 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, father and brother, Kyle Simmons, on June 22, 2016 at the age of 42, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves to mourn his precious children, Quaid and Quintelle Simmons and mother of his children, Suzie Bouchie. Also left to mourn are his parents Margaret and Martin Simmons, his sisters Dora (Jules), Marsha (Daryle)and Deborah (Ryan); nieces and nephews Brandon, Tristan, Tronn, Julian, Max, Xavier, Indiya, Bella, Simmy, Sophie, Ryan and Ryder; close cousins Greg, Shane, Steve, Dale, Kevin, Darren, Beryl, Howard, William, Timothy, Justin, Shawn, Lisa and John. Kyle was predeceased by his Grandfather Antoine Bittern, Uncle Gordon Bittern and special friend Harold Disbrowe. Special family members include his Aunt Delores Berens, Uncles Tom, Charlie and Tony Bittern, Uncle Alan Klein and Reina Disbrowe, whom he loved like a second mother. Kyle was blessed with friends whom he considered his brothers, these included Warren Lahaie, Brian Groot, Sean Parenteau, Dave Force, Donovan and Darren Fiddler and many others too numerous to name. Kyle resided in Berens River from birth to three years of age, Duck Bay from ages three to 10 and Winnipeg Beach for the remainder of his childhood. As a child, he travelled extensively throughout North America which continued on into his adulthood. His favourite place to visit was Disney World. Some of his fondest experiences was bringing his friends Warren and Dave to Florida with him. Kyle's greatest memory was the time he spent with his Uncle Tom on the trap line as a teen. Kyle was proud that his first language spoken was Saulteaux. He graduated high school at Children of the Earth and furthered his education at Red River College in Business Administration. He started working at the age of 14 during the summers at the beach and later into other roles throughout his adulthood until his illness progressed. He adored working with the students at Berens River School, many considering him as their favourite educator. His pride and joy were his two beautiful children, whom he adored with all of his heart. The family wishes to thank Southeast Personal Care Home in particular nursing staff Angela, Rebecca, Violet, Josephina, Michelle, Lyla and Carrie who provided him with exceptional care. Thank you to Berens River Chief and Council and all those who have offered their condolences. "For the strength of the pack is the wolf and the strength of the wolf is the pack." Wake services to take place at Eternal Grace, 1111 Logan Ave., June 25, from 7:00 p.m. to midnight. Funeral services will be held at Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave St., June 27, 2016 in the Buntane Chapel at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Winnipeg Beach Cemetery as per his wishes. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Winnipeg Humane Society and the Siloam Mission. Eternal Grace in Care of Arrangements 204-505-4559

Martin, Margaret-I'm so glad I could see Kyle again a few years back. I was able to tell him the impact he made on my life...and we had a laugh about some of our childhood memories. Love to you both-and to the rest of your beautiful family. - Posted by: Shaylene (Leibl)smith (Cousin) on: Jun 26, 2016

My heartfelt sympathy, Margaret, to you and your family on the passing of Kyle. His spirit is free! It will be strange though not to see him and you every Saturday. You were very devoted. (Thank you also for the kindness you showed my mother in her much too short stay at Southeast). - Posted by: Bev Kornelsen (SEPCH Volunteer) on: Jun 25, 2016
