NANCY LOCKHART It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Nancy Lockhart, beloved wife and mother. On Sunday, July 17, 2016 Nancy died peacefully in the Intensive Care Unit at Grace Hospital, Winnipeg, following a two week struggle with pneumonia. She will be missed by husband Lyle; son Michael; daughters, Susan, Sheila and Jennifer; sister Peggy, and several grandchildren. Nancy grew up in Guelph, Ontario, and graduated from the Guelph General Hospital School of Nursing in 1961. She worked in the Operating Rooms of several hospitals and retired from Victoria Hospital, Winnipeg, in 1995. Truly a life-long learner, she attended the University of Winnipeg as a part-time, adult student for many years and graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in 1997. Nancy enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, riding her bicycles and especially her flowers, both in the city and at the family cottage in Ponemah. She was an active member of St. Chad's Anglican Church for many years and more recently of St. Mary Anglican Church where she enjoyed the choir. Nancy was long-time volunteer at the Drop-In Centre of St. Matthews-Maryland Community Ministry. She loved old black-and-white movies, especially while at the cottage where there is no broadcast TV. On Friday, July 22, 2016, Nancy's Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary Anglican Church, 3830 Roblin Boulevard at Haney Street, Winnipeg, with The Rev. Canon Dr. Cathy Campbell, presider. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Matthews-Maryland Community Ministry, 365 McGee Street, Winnipeg, MB R3G 3M5.
