SHERRI LEA STEGGLES 1959 - 2016 Peacefully on August 6, 2016 Sherri Lea Steggles passed away at Riverview Health Centre. Sherri is survived by her husband of 37 years William and their two children Amber (Chris) and Ashley; granddaughter Autumn; father Harold Borden; sister Cynthia Bugeja (Leonard); brother Robert Borden and her five nieces. Sherri was predeceased by her mother Ferne (Harriett) Borden; and mother and father in-law Viola and Robert Steggles. Sherri was born on February 6, 1959 in Stratford, Ontario. She grew up in a loving family of five as the oldest child. Living in nine different places by the age of 12, Sherri spent most of her childhood moving around for her fathers career. In 1974 the family made another move, this time to Winnipeg, Manitoba. Sherri enjoyed living in Winnipeg and developed many long lasting friendships here. This is also where she met the love of her life William Steggles in 1977. The two lovebirds married in the spring of 1979 and started building their life together. After high school Sherri obtained her Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from the University Of Manitoba and spent her career dedicated to the education field. William and Sherri rejoiced in the birth of their two children Amber and Ashley. Sherri was a devoted mother who took great pride in raising her children. They were the centre of her universe. As a family they enjoyed many summers up at the cottage, trips to Grand Beach, family vacations, and spending time with family. Sherri's newest joy in life was the birth of her first grandchild Autumn. Grandma (aka Mah-ma) loved her time with Autumn playing with stickers, reading stories and looking at family pictures together. Sherri was anxiously anticipating the arrival of her second grandchild this September. Sherri was a kind, caring, and devoted soul who deeply loved her family. She will leave her loved ones with the gift of knowing that they were truly loved by her. She will live in their hearts forever. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. The family will be holding a private Celebration of Life for Sherri with close family and friends.

Sherri, Wendy, Karen and I were high school friends. We shared many good times together in our dinner group over the years. It was our chance to celebrate our successes, share fond memories and support one another in times of need. We had murder mysteries, Halloween parties, Christmas celebrations and more. The husbands enjoyed their time together too watching the games and just hanging out. It won't be the same without her. She was the greatest friend when I needed someone to listen and not judge, the one I could call to vent when I was angry and the one who shared my sorrow when I lost my loved ones. She was my big sister who kept me in line and after 42 years of friendship she was the person who knew me the best. I will miss you Berri. - Posted by: Carol Paul (Best Friend ) on: Aug 15, 2016
