ALONA CURRIE (nee GRACE) On Monday, September 12, 2016 Alona Sharon-Ann Currie took her last breath on earth, and her first one in Heaven. After a few years of different health issues, Alona is now rejoicing in the presence of Jesus. No more pain. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 39 years, David; her parents Frank and Florida Grace; sister Gayle (Danny) Shmelinski; brother Brentt (Tracy) Grace, and Kevin (Alison) Grace; sister-in-law Sharon (Tony) McDonald; numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces, and nephews whom she loved and enjoyed very much. Alona was born February 7, 1956 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She had a very compassionate heart, and was gifted in counselling people. Because of this, she fostered children, and treated them as her own. Alona's last job was at Grenvilla Services (Real Estate) where she enjoyed working for 23 years. She will be greatly missed. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Eternal Grace Funeral Chapel, 1111 Logan Ave. at McPhillips Street. Viewing prior to the service time, Pastor Jeff Romas officiating. A private interment will take place in Waverley Memorial Gardens. Eternal Grace Funerals in care of arrangements, 204-505-4559

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I'm so very sorry to just now hear of this incredible loss. Alona was a wonderful roommate and friend. She loved to laugh and to sing. I'm so sorry that I just now tried to find her. There is another angel in heaven. - Posted by: Eileen Pokitar (Shared a room at Seven Oaks Hospital in Sept., 2012) on: Jul 18, 2018

  • Dave, our sincere sympathy during this difficult time. We enjoyed your visits to Brandon with Reg and Julie. Hockey for the boys, shopping for the girls! Her jewellery was incredible and matched Alona's personality. Take care Brian & Irene - Posted by: Brian and Irene (Friend) on: Sep 16, 2016
