MARK PIERRE ROBITAILLE
Born: Mar 08, 1966
Date of Passing: Sep 08, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARK PIERRE ROBITAILLE March 8, 1966 - September 8, 2016 With heavy hearts we announce Mark's sudden passing at the age of 50 years at the Victoria General Hospital due to complications after a brief illness. Mark was a Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Nephew and Friend. He will be dearly missed by his beloved son Ryan; parents Pete and Bev (nee Lutz); sister Lisa Kutz (Mike); nephews Adam and Alex; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; many lifelong friends and colleagues. Growing up in Fort Richmond, Mark attended Fort Richmond Collegiate and completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree at the U of M. In 2002 his pride and joy, Ryan, was born. Mark spent the majority of his career at Canada Post and most recently Manitoba Hydro. He was an avid motocross enthusiast since the age of 12, often travelling to participate in what he loved doing most. R.I.P. #86. But the aspect of Mark's life that brought him the greatest joy was being "Dad" to Ryan. Mark was the quintessential storyteller, with a quick wit and awesome sense of humour. He had a close circle of friends both from motocross and high school. Your friendships meant the world to him as well as your strength and support shown to his family during this difficult time. Bless you. A private memorial will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank Dr. Brian Sharkey for his support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one's choice. Wojcik's Funeral Chapels & Crematoriums, Winnipeg, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204.897.4665 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com Ryan when you look up in the sky the brightest star is Dad watching over you forever and ever.

My deepest sympathies to Mark's family. Mark and I lived on the same street, attended the same schools, and played many years on the same hockey team. Mark had a tremendous sense of humour and was always quick with a joke. I'll always be grateful for the fond memories! David - Posted by: David Hohl (Childhood Friend) on: Oct 07, 2016

Mark, you will be sorely missed by so many people. It was a pleasure to get to know you through coaching Ryan in both soccer and hockey. Your passion for sports and your dedication to Ryan were an inspiration to many. Your friendly manner was welcomed and appeciated. Seeing Bev and Pete at games showed us just how proud you and your family are of Ryan and how important family was to you. I will miss hearing your cheering across the rink, and I will miss playing with you and against you at Friday night "beer league" hockey. I know you will be lined up on the left side of a great heavenly hockey team. - Posted by: Tony Lopez (Friend) on: Sep 25, 2016

To Bev, Pete, Lisa, Ryan, and Family. My heartfelt sympathy to you and I am devastated for your loss. Mark was the kind of friend that only comes by once in a lifetime and will be missed by so many. I have so many great memories of Mark-- from playing soccer in grade 7, to golfing trips, to being the best man at his wedding and most recently, our Guys 50 trip to Spain and Italy. Mark and I learned how to golf together. Flailing at the local public courses in Winnipeg, hoping we would get better at the game. He taught me how to ride a dirt bike at the ripe age of 49 at Rory's cottage. He taught me that when you are down you need to dust yourself off and don't give up. Anyone that knows Mark understands that he was filled with drive, tenacity and never did things in half-measure. It was wonderful to travel with him this summer in Europe. The group of us would laugh, joke and drag ourselves through Barcelona, Pisa, Tuscany and Rome. On one travel day we stopped on a mountain road in Italy that overlooked a valley of orchards and forest (quite an amazing view). After taking some photos Mark talked about one day coming back, with his motorcycle in tow, to explore the country. Mark was in awe of the places we visited-- The Vatican, the Coliseum, churches and monuments. Though one comment stuck with me: When Rory commented that he wished he could have shown Mark more on the Guys trip, Mark said "...I had a great time, I got to laugh, and see some cool things... just doing that was enough for me.." Our thoughts are with you during this sad time and hope you find some solace, knowing Mark meant so much to so many people. - Posted by: David Green (Dear friend, travel buddy and fellow 'wick'.) on: Sep 17, 2016

My cousin Mark was one of those people that could walk into the room, tower over you, and with his booming voice make you feel so loved and comfortable. We didn't have a chance to see each other often enough but when we did we could sit for hours catching up with Mark entertaining us with his awesome jokes, wit, and crazy stories. He loved to have fun with my kids always ready to poke at them, make them laugh, and completely get them crazy then sit back and laugh. I will miss you tremendously, we never know when it is our time. You have reminded me how short life is. I feel comfort knowing you are with nana, grandpa, my mom, and Uncle Sam, I can imagine the stories flying around that table. Till we meet again and I get that bigger than life hug. I will miss you. - Posted by: Melanie (Cousin) on: Sep 17, 2016

My sincere condolences. I'll never forget Mark as a close friend growing up, a classy team mate in hockey and a friend that made me laugh countless times. One of my fondest memories was when we car pooled to early morning practice in Pete's red Volkswagon Beetle. The windows would never defrost and it was freezing cold in that old tub, but those were some of the best times in my hockey days. Although we went our own ways after high school, that didn't remove the wonderful memories that I cherish today. Ryan - you already know this, but I'm still going to reaffirm that your Dad was a class act, and one of the funniest people I had the opportunity to have a childhood friend. Strength and peace be with you all. - Posted by: Scott Grant (Childhood friend) on: Sep 17, 2016
