Larry began his travels to the Star people on Monday, September 19, 2016. Over the next few days we will be honouring his life and his journey with ceremony and service, and we invite all who were touched by my Brother to join us in releasing him on his final journey. Larry was a loving father to Michael, Gregory, Sona, Riel, Robert, Mark, Maureen, Kingsley, Renee and Bentley, all who loved Larry dearly. His grandchildren are Larry, Christina, Ava, Sephora, Autumn, Maya, Sierra, Tatianna, Kingsley Jr., Zaydah, Elijah and Skylar. He leaves behind sister Veronica Bousquet and partner Mickey, brother - Vern Morrissette (Wabishgay Mahengun) and wife Rhonda, and sisters: Debbie Silva and Shawna Lee DeCoste. He was predeceased by his father and mother: Robert James and Rose Marie Morrissette, his sister Linda Morrissette and brother Clarke Morrissette. We also would like to give special acknowledgement and thanks to Wilfred and Connie Buck, and David and Cheryl Blacksmith, for their guidance and support throughout our time of grieving. These relations have walked the Red Road with Larry these last 30 years and hold a special place in his heart and spirit. The Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre has provided tremendous support to us all and has helped to ease the burden of walking through this difficult process. For this we say Nanaskomitinaw / Gisay Miigwetch. To those organizations who Larry has been involved with and who have shared their kindness, we also acknowledge them and give our heartfelt thanks. A community wake will be held at the Rotunda in the Aboriginal Centre (181 Higgins Avenue) on Sunday, September 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. A ceremony and feast will be held on Monday, September 26 at Thunderbird House from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to support Larry in his final journey. I´m a former exchange student from Germany and I met him as I visited a course of him at university. I just googled him all over the place because he is one of the people I will never forget. So I noticed he has passed away last year. I´m so sad, hoped to meet him again one time. Deepest sympathy!!! Ludwig - Posted by: Ludwig Thoma (former student) on: Jun 17, 2017
