BEVERLEY JEANETTE FEHR March 2, 1947 - September 27, 2016 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend, Beverley Jeanette Fehr (nee Martens). Bev will be lovingly remembered by daughters: Gloria (Jim) Laurendeau and their three children of Calgary; Gwenda (Todd) MacPherson and their four children of Warman, SK; sister Elaine (Michael) Filkins and their three children and families from Jasper, Georgia; brother Ron (Mary) Martens of Memphis, Tennessee and son Tim and family of Abbotsford, BC; brother Harvey (Lily) of Vancouver, BC, and many extended family members and friends. Bev will be remembered for her love of music, particularly playing the piano/organ and singing in the choir at church. Our hearts are full with the outpouring of love and support surrounding us during this difficult time. A very special thank you to Pastor Bruce Martin and the staff of Calvary Temple for going out of their way to honour Mom and so willingly set aside time to remember with us. Thanks also go to the Bardal Funeral Chapel for helping to make all arrangements from afar during this difficult time. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 2 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Buntain Chapel at Calvary Temple. Refreshments will be served.

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • So shocked to hear about Bev's death. I tried to find her to reconnect but wasn't able to. I would have loved to renew a friendship with her. She was lovely and certainly had a sparkle in her personality. Would love to hear more about her recent life. My husband noticed her obituary and I'm really saddened to hear about her death. Condolences to all of her family. I remember her being so proud of her girls. - Posted by: Anne Derksen (Friend. I met her when we were both taking lessons with Sharon, pursuing ARCTs) on: Oct 25, 2016

  • Sean & I would like to offer our condolences to you, Bev's family, as you mourn her loss. I can remember as a little child how fascinated I was with how well she played the piano. I was much younger than Bev but I do remember visits to Uncle George & Aunt Helen's & playing with my cousins. Praying God's gentle comfort over your tender hearts as you mourn the loss of a Sister, Mom, Grandmother, Aunt & friend. - Posted by: Jewel & Sean Kelly (Cousin) on: Oct 03, 2016

  • I was so saddened to hear of Bev's passing, just last evening (Sun Oct 2). Immediately I thought of her siblings whom I knew best. Bev was the cousin I was closest to, two years my senior. There are so many memories of childhood trips our family made to MB and she made with her family, Uncle George and Aunt Helen to SK. Those were such exciting times and we became fast friends, confidantes, and pen pals. Her sparkle and fun resonated with me. One special memory was of a shared family trip to Banff AB (My parents, Dan and Susan Buhler, the Martens family and Aunt Margaret from BC) - tenting in the rain, swimming in the hot springs in the snow, lots of family laughter and fun. As the years passed, Bev and Ben and Dan and I were colleagues in ministry. As we travelled south from our first church in Churchill MB we visited them in Deloraine MB, with the camaraderie of many shared experiences; loving the vitality of her two sweet girls. As she pursued her music, life had many sad turns and our last visit was in the setting of our home in Ottawa ON, on a trip with her parents. Our hearts and prayers extend to Gwenda and Gloria and their families; Ron and Mary, Harvey, Elaine and Mike. Sadly we have lost contact with our many moves but would welcome reconnection. My email is therefore included: cddriedger@gmail.com May the "God of all comfort" wrap each of you in His tender love and may the reality of His presence sooth your hearts in the days ahead. Our love. Connie and Dan Driedger - Posted by: Connie Driedger (nee Buhler) (Cousin to Bev; great childhood friends; ministry colleagues as young adults) on: Oct 03, 2016

  • I still remember meeting Bev for the first time, I remember thinking how kind and beautiful she was. She shared her musical talents so well, but being a mother gave her the most joy! Gloria and Gwenda you paid a wonderful tribute to your mom today! God give you comfort in your time of grief. Gladys Stoesz-Hammond - Posted by: Gladys Stoesz-Hammond (Friend) on: Oct 02, 2016

  • Ms. Fehr was my piano teacher for many years. She was the first to attempt to teach this crazy 6 year old who simply loved music. I have amazing memories of going to her house and being challenged a little more every week. My heart breaks to hear of her passing. She was an awesome woman who loved sharing her passion for music. I'm still playing today and it's because of the lessons she taught me. My condolences to her family. Much love to you all. - Posted by: Michele Goertzen (Student) on: Oct 02, 2016

  • I am so sorry to hear of Bev's death and wish that you be granted peace and comfort in these very difficult days. Harry (Lorrita's dad) - Posted by: Harry McKnight (friend) on: Oct 02, 2016
