• Sad to find out after all these weeks that Doug has passed on.... Doug was a guy with a big heart. His heart was so big that sometimes it got him into trouble as people misunderstood him. He is a hero.... Doug did things because he cared for people. He showed up at someone's door from the church, who was on welfare, and said "get your coat, I am taking you grocery shopping and paying for it." Another time he heard in the news that a kid had climbed up a hydro tower and got electrocuted. Although Doug did not know the kid or his father, he drove to the hospital and spoke words of encouragement to the kid and the father, like I said, Doug was a hero. - Posted by: John Teixeira (Old friend) on: Mar 05, 2017

• Doug was my cousin. He was 8 years older than me. I remember him always taking the time to come over to our house to visit with my mom and dad (Nellie and Walter). My mom would always comment about how smart he was. When my dad died, Doug called to offer condolences, even though we had not been in contact for a long time.
